REFLECTIONS FROM THE READING ROOM
This week presented us with a significant challenge when one of our artisans faced a medical emergency. It was a reminder that life could throw unexpected curveballs, and our priority was to support our artisan's well-being. With the support of the community, we were able to find a temporary replacement to ensure our production continued smoothly. Although this setback has set us back by two weeks, we remain resilient in our commitment to our artisans and their livelihoods.
Disappointment and Silver Linings
We were truly disappointed to have missed the opportunity to exhibit at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show this year. However, we firmly believe that when one door closes, another opens. Our spirits were lifted when we received an invitation to showcase our creations at Hampton Court Palace. This unexpected turn of events reminded us of the importance of perseverance and maintaining hope even in the face of disappointment.
Laughter and the Power of Connection
Sometimes, amidst the challenges, laughter finds its way into our journey. We experienced a moment of both joy and pain when our artisan's family video-called us from the hospital. They sang a heartfelt thank-you song, expressing their gratitude for our support in settling the medical bills and ensuring our artisan's income. The mix of laughter and tears at that moment reminded us of the power of human connection and the ability to find humour even in difficult situations.
